Whisky Whisky brings eats, beats and distilled treats to Fish Lane

As August starts to roll in, so does our fatigue for the winter months. This season has been a particularly chilly one for us unaccustomed Brisbane dwellers and, quite honestly, we’re ready to bypass August and jump straight into spring – a season of warm rays, cool drinks and an abundance of good times. Bringing all three of those spring essentials to Fish Lane this September is Whisky Whisky, a block party-style whisky show that will leave you tingling from your taste buds to your toes.

Trust us when we say this isn’t your average, musty whisky show – Whisky Whisky is back in 2022 to encourage the curious, the adventurous and the long-time drinkers to gather together over a shared love of its namesake golden elixir with guaranteed good times, delicious eats and fresh beats. After a successful first year, Whisky Whisky will return on Saturday September 24, taking shape on Fish Lane beneath the train tracks opposite Hello Please. The two-session event comes from the creators of Brisbane-born whisky society Supping Club, a monthly casual sip session that unites both whisky lovers and learners over great chat and delicious drams. Over two-and-a-half hours, guests will be spoiled for choice with more than 80 whiskies to sample, with upwards of 30 sought-after Australian and international whisky brands pouring their goods. Renowned distillers such as Bladnoch, Archie Rose Distilling Co., StarwardThe Scotch Malt Whisky SocietyGlenDronach and more will be tantalising taste buds, set to the soundtrack of fresh springtime beats. Each attendee will also be treated to one ‘dream dram’ of their choice, with a number of brands offering a range of rare, special or new top-shelf pours to sample on the day. If one seems like not enough (you’re not wrong), additional dream dram tokens are available for purchase to quell any whisky-induced decision anxiety.

While Whisky Whisky, as its name might suggest, is all about the love of whisky, that’s not all that’s on offer. Ticket holders will also receive a delectable Pan-Asian-inspired lunchbox filled with eats from Hello Please, which can be washed down with beers, frozen whisky sours and non-alcoholic bevs available for purchase. Competitive folk can also test their skills on the Whisky Whisky claw machine, which will be brimming with an assortment of whisky-themed prizes. Tickets for Whisky Whisky (including a limited number of discounted first-release tickets) are on sale now – head to our Event Guide for details.
