Whisky Whisky brings eats, beats and distilled treats to Fish Lane
When we hear the words ‘whisky show’ a few things come to mind – mainly atmosphere-lacking convention centres, tweed jackets and stale chat. Here to prove that we should never make assumptions is Whisky Whisky, a special blend of whisky appreciation coming to Fish Lane on Saturday November 13.
Forget musty rooms filled with peated arguments – Whisky Whisky will be taking shape on Fish Lane beneath the train tracks, encouraging the curious, the adventurous and the long-time drinkers to gather together over a shared love of its namesake golden elixir. The event comes from the creators of Brisbane-born whisky society Supping Club, a monthly casual sip session that unites both whisky lovers and learners over great chat and delicious drams. Over two-and-a-half hours, guests will be spoiled for choice with more than 40 different drams to sample, with upwards of 20 sought-after Australian and international whisky brands pouring their goods. Renowned distillers such as Bladnoch, Archie Rose Distilling Co., Starward, Lark Distillery, Benromach, Kilchoman Distillery and more will be tantalising tastebuds, set to the soundtrack of fresh springtime beats. Each attendee will also be treated to one ‘dream dram’ of their choice, with each brand offering a premium or rare pour to sample on the day.
While Whisky Whisky, as its name might suggest, is all about the love of whisky, that’s not all that’s on offer. Ticket holders will also receive a delectable Pan-Asian-inspired lunchbox filled with eats from Hello Please, which can be washed down with beers, frozen whisky sours and non-alcoholic bevs available for purchase. Competitive folk can also test their skills on the Whisky Whisky claw machine, which will be brimming with an assortment of whisky-themed prizes. Tickets for Whisky Whisky (including a limited number of discounted first-release tickets) are on sale now – head to our Event Guide for details.
