West Village partners with Camerata to foster young string sensations

Embracing its ethos of supporting Brisbane’s culturally rich community and promoting local talent, West Village is partnering with Helpmann Award-nominees Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra – for an exciting initiative.

The collaboration with Camerata will focus on supporting the Upbeat initiative – a 12-month program chiefly aimed at nurturing the next generation of local artists. The Upbeat program will support emerging string players by creating pathways and opportunities to work alongside Camerata’s Artistic Associates over a year. Throughout this period, Upbeat’s artists will have access to a performance space within West Village, allowing them to showcase their talents to a variety of new audiences. The program will foster talent currently involved in the orchestra – who are known for their incredible concert seasons and sharing the stage with award-winning artists including Eskimo Joe, Kate Miller-Heidke and Neil Finn, to name a few.

Locals will also be treated to the sweet, soothing sounds of core-string classics when Camerata performs at a number of events throughout the year. Keep your eyes on the West Village website for more information on when the chamber orchestra will be sharing its musical magic in West End’s vibrant urban hub.
