West End Block Party

Embrace neighbourly love at the West End Block Party

There’s nothing like a block party to get everyone together, or at least act as a great excuse to get out and party a little with your neighbours. Experience the festivities for yourself when the colourful suburb of West End celebrates its citizens (and those honourary ones) with a lively block party of its own.

The West End Block Party was constructed to promote the proud local traditions of inclusiveness, diversity and respect amongst its residents. The day is happening largely thanks to the West End Community Association, as well as the support of plenty of local businesses and traders.

On Saturday September 22, the suburb will become home to a ramshackle mini-festival celebration with music, prizes, acts and fun for the whole family. Four stages will be erected,  upon which a range of musical acts will perform – this year’s line-up includes Kingfisha, Geppetto, Dubmarine and Pastel Blaze and DJs to support.

As one of Brisbane’s most creative hubs, it’s unsurprising that the day will also feature plenty of artistic spirit and collaboration, finding circus, dance, theatre and poetry among the performances. You can also intersperse your cultural lingerings with a casual stroll through the market stalls that will decorate the street, all before the main event – the street parade. The day begins at 1:00 pm and ends at 9:00 pm, giving you plenty of time to wander around the site, check out the musical talent of the district and indulge in a little too much good food.
