Relaxing poolside with a cocktail in hand, sunset walks on the beach and luxe hotels – oh boy, do we miss travelling. Nothing says ‘Straya more than a trip to Bali, the Indonesian beachside paradise that is a favourite amongst us Aussies. Although we can’t get there at the moment (you know, an international pandemic and all), you can still live it up Bali-style right here in Brisbane! From Thursday November 12 to Sunday December 20, W Brisbane will be serving up a slice of its favourite island neighbour, W Bali-Seminyak, inviting city-dwellers to sip tantalising tropical-themed cocktails and devour delicious Indonesian eats by the poolside (sans the stained Bintang singlet).

Forget the hassle of airport security, excess baggage fees and a six-hour flight – you can now enjoy all the goodness of a Bali vacay in your own backyard! From Thursday to Sunday for six weeks W Brisbane will deliver the summer holiday vibes as the hotel’s poolside oasis WET Deck is transformed into a Balinese playground. The riverside paradise is going all out for the Seminyak-inspired celebrations and will be filled with colourful bean bags, swinging hammocks, vibrant palm trees, tropical greenery, lantern lighting and bright Balinese umbrellas. It’s here where revellers can soak in views of the river whilst sipping and snacking to their heart’s content – think dishes like Sumatran beef rendang and kung pao chicken noodles served up alongside a tantalising clutch of cocktails including flower mojitos, pink slushies and refreshing coconut concoctions. If you’re craving an ice-cold Bintang, then you’re in luck as there will be floating trays full of tipples so guests can lap up luxury in the pool.

The action doesn’t stop there as there are a heap of events ready to transport you to the relaxing beaches of Bali, like morning yoga on the WET Deck Terrace, a Balinese pamper sesh at AWAY Spa, a pop-up sarong stall from Robe and party tunes aplenty including a streamed DJ set by W Bali’s music curator Damien Saint alongside beats by W Brisbane’s music curator Kane Dignum. To cure your case of wanderlust, you can book the It’s A Bali Vibe accommodation package, which includes luxe benefits like parking, a bespoke welcome Balinese offering, credit for WET Deck’s Bali playground and late check-out (you might need it after those coconut cocktails).
