Visit Desert Country at UQ

Fans of aboriginal art will be enthralled with the arrival of the colourful Desert Country to UQ’s Art Museum. The collection is a part of the Art Gallery of South Australia’s permanent collection of indigenous artwork that is currently touring the country.

A feast for the eyes, the exhibition is also a representation of the historic desert painting movement. Works come from all over Australia, including the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia. Desert Country‘s earliest pieces are from 1971, including a number of works from the beginning of the art movement, as well as iconic images like those from Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands of far northwest South Australia.

Visit UQ’s Art Museum from August 4 to October 21.
