Pretend you’re in Paris for a day at the Vieille Branche winter design market

Transport your mind for a moment, if you will, to a sunny Parisian courtyard filled with treasures. Picture yourself lazily strolling through the leafy, lush precinct with a coffee in one hand and a croissant in the other, stopping to pick up a few things along the way – a bouquet of wild botanicals here, some handcrafted cheese there, perhaps a handmade blouse … You don’t have to snap out of this European fantasy just yet – the Vieille Branche winter design market is happening on Saturday June 3 to make all of your new-season dreams come true.

Kicking off the venue’s offering for the year, the Vieille Branche winter design market brings together a dreamily curated selection of stallholders. The Vieille Branche market days have long been the place to go to seek out fresh local creatives and this latest edition is no exception. Some brand-new faces to watch and shop for include Paper Hands, Martine Artworks, Etre Guides, NacL and Mary Bobbin just to name a few. It goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway, because cheese) but Brisbane’s favourite fromagerie Emile & Solange will be on hand to provide the goods that dairy dreams are made of.

The amazing range of stallholders isn’t the only reason you’ll be praising the change of seasons – the Farmhouse Cafe will be serving up delicious food, cockle-warming coffee and its famous selection of mouth-watering cakes and pastries. As you wander through the stalls, the sounds of Jan Van Dijk from Swing Dynamique on violin and Dany Avanzini from Gypsy Cats on guitar will fill the space with chill bohemian tunes, adding to the provincial vibes that Vieille Branche is already well known for.

If you’re ready to bring some warmth to the new season, you can head along to the Vieille Branche winter design market on Saturday June 3 from 7:30 am. Psst … there is a $3 all-day public car park at the end of Greg Chappell Street next to the Queensland Cricket Club if you’re driving in.
