Fortitude Valley Markets – one of Brisbane’s oldest and most iconic markets – is holding its first Valley Rack-It on August 1. Located in the Brunswick Street Mall, the Valley Rack-It will see more than 100 young designers, fashionistas and vintage sellers rock up with a suitcase full of their wares, which will then be hung on the racks provided for the public to snap up. The event, which will be specially curated, is designed to give up-and-coming designers the chance to sell their collections and gain valuable exposure. Successful fashion brands such as Maiocchi, Everingham and Watson and even Sass and Bide all had humble beginnings at various markets, so who knows what burgeoning label you might discover! Adding to the festivities will be DJ Taj Mahal spinning some grooves, live performances by Creature Kind, graffiti demos by Juggler’s Art Space, craft workshops, and a bunch more.
