Unknown Mortal Orchestra leads Brisbane Festival’s 2018 line-up

Although still several months away, the 2018 Brisbane Festival is already positioned as one of the city’s most anticipated events. If we were to hazard a guess, we’d say it was because of the festival’s recent announcement that psych R’n’B outfit Unknown Mortal Orchestra will be playing as part of the festivities. If this is the entree for the main course to come, we can’t wait to feast.

Ruben Nielson – the visionary front man for Unknown Mortal Orchestra – has been hard at work since we last saw him in 2015. The Portland-based musician is gearing up to drop his upcoming album Sex & Food on Friday April 6, and to celebrate Unknown Mortal Orchestra has announced a tour of Australia – including a stop in Brisbane to perform as part of Brisbane Festival. Fans around the world are frothing on the latest singles that have dropped in the weeks leading up to the album’s release, which means our anticipation for a live rendition is growing exponentially by the day.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra will perform new tracks and established hits on Saturday September 15 at The Tivoli. Tickets will go on sale on Monday April 9. We’re already salivating at the thought of more Brisbane Festival announcements. Keep your eyes peeled on the Brisbane Festival website for more info, but rest assured we’ll deliver all the juicy news as it comes to light.
