Pimm’s, pho shooters and party times – the Christmas cocktail soiree turning tradition on its head

When it comes to Christmas, most of us have our own little traditions that we like to stick to. While there’s nothing wrong with the tried and true, adding a little extra kick to your end-of-year proceedings can take things to a whole new level. Who’s to say you can’t have it both ways? Treasury Brisbane is hosting its first-ever Christmas Cocktail Soiree, taking over the Treasury Hotel Courtyard on Friday December 8 for an evening of pure festive revelry – with some twists thrown in for good measure.

Treasury’s Christmas Cocktail Soiree is a pretty ideal option for those seeking a last post-work bash before the holidays roll in. The inner-city party haven has long been known to host some of the snazziest affairs in town, so it makes sense that the hotel’s Christmas proceedings are on another level. The Courtyard will be transformed into a festive wonderland decked out with themed decorations, with a live six-piece swing band and roaming carollers providing the entertainment for the evening. Rumour has it that everyone’s favourite holly-jolly dude in red will even be making an appearance, because you’re never too old for Santa.

It goes without saying that one of the most important things about Christmas is the food, so you’d best believe that Treasury Brisbane is putting on a sophisticated spread loaded with all of the trimmings. This isn’t your standard Christmas feast – bite-sized canapés include the likes of beef pho shooters, citrus and sour cream macaroons and Moroccan pumpkin flowers, while patrons with a more substantial hunger can tuck into char-siu pork stir fried noodles and salmon poke bowls. Libations will be flowing in the form of Pimm’s and espresso martinis on tap (pure heaven), a selection of wines, Heineken beers and some non-boozy options for those having a dry one.

Ready to toast to the season? Tickets to Treasury Brisbane’s inaugural Christmas Cocktail Soiree won’t last long, so jump on them ASAP here.
