The Total Brisbane French Festival swings in to South Bank

Bon vivants best make a beeline to South Bank Parklands this weekend as the Total Brisbane French Festival swings in to South Bank Parklands.

Before you sink your teeth into buttery croissants and crunchy macarons on Bastille Day in Brisbane next Monday July 14, the Total Brisbane French Festival will be treating local Francophiles to a two-day celebration of food, wine and festivities. From 9:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday July 12 and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday July 13, the Cultural Forecourt of South Bank Parklands will be speckled with stalls, street performers and spectators. More than 80 exhibitors including French Martini, C’est Bon Restaurant, Monsieur Macaron and Le Petit Café, as well as travel companies, fashion boutiques, design and furniture makers, language centres and many more will satisfy your French cravings in the extensive market area.

Ten French winemaking regions will be represented in the Le Pavillon des Vins marquee, inviting sippers to sample a smorgasbord of French wine and spirits as they learn about various grape varieties and the winemaking process. Line the stomach with French delicacies like cheese, pastries and baguettes, as performers keep visitors of all ages amused. Littlies will love the kids corner, complete with face painting, cooking classes and carousel, while the kids-at-heart will enjoy the French fashion parade aboard a luxury boat and can-can dancers, cabaret and parkour demonstrations as part of the festival’s live entertainment program.
