Experience the sublime with Brisbane Festival’s Theatre Republic

Brisbane Festival is gearing up to shower Brisbane in cultural happenings and the QUT Creative Industries Precinct will be a focal point of amazing performances as it hosts Theatre Republic.

Throughout September, several areas of Brisbane will be turned into cultural hubs for the annual celebration of everything cool, the Brisbane Festival. From music to art to theatre, there is something for everyone to enjoy. You’d be forgiven for thinking that there is too much happening to take in, but in 2015 the Brisbane Festival is dividing the action and making it easer for everyone to appreciate the varied program of events. Theatre Republic is a showcase of award-winning theatre from across Australia and the world, taking place at the QUT Creative Industries Precinct from September 8 to 26.

Theatre Republic will boast close to a dozen productions ranging from comedy to drama. On the bill throughout September are productions such as Adrienne Truscott’s Asking For It, Prize Fighter, The Theory of Everything, The City They Burned and Dead Royal as well at the visually stimulating exhibition Experimenta Recharge. In addition to the stage performances, Theatre Republic will also showcase a range of live music with performances from Michelle Xen + The Neon Wild, MKO, Ayla and Cheap Fakes and great nosh courtesy of a late night food offering from Wandering Cooks.
