Welcome to a new era for The Weekend Edition

From discovering delectable eats to announcing the latest must-attend events, The Weekend Edition has spent the last decade dedicated to delivering our readers the best that Brisbane, the Gold Coast and beyond have to offer. We pride ourselves on being a trusted source of local lifestyle news, uncovering the best places to eat, drink and play to elevate your weekend. We’ve shared many exciting moments with our readers over the years and today, Monday April 4, we’re sharing some of our biggest news yet! The Weekend Edition is embarking on a thrilling new journey – read on to find out what’s in store …

In my tenth birthday thank you note last month I teased some exciting new developments for The Weekend Edition. Today, we can finally lift the lid on what we’ve been dreaming up.

For ten years, The Weekend Edition has thrived thanks to its like-minded partners and, as we enter our second decade, we can unveil our most significant partnership to date.

We are proud to announce that The Weekend Edition has merged with independent news website InQueensland to create a dominant digital news and lifestyle media company dedicated to Queenslanders and the topics that matter most to them.

So, what exactly does this mean for our readers?

You’re still going to get The Weekend Edition that you’ve known and loved over the last ten years, including your weekly dose of lifestyle content across food and drink, arts and culture, design, and events.

But it will now be beautifully complemented by the quality business, political and cultural news from InQueensland’s stable of specialist writers and respected columnists. The Weekend Edition and InQueensland will continue to maintain separate online presences for the foreseeable future – we do not wish to dilute either platform, but rather strengthen each publication through a shared knowledge base and elevate our offering.

This proudly independent partnership is built on an ethos of positive media and a shared commitment to editorial excellence.

We look forward to embarking on this exciting new chapter with you.
