Watch live shows like never before at The Tivoli’s Open Season series of gigs
Be prepared for jaw-dropping cabaret, daring circus acts and a whole lot of live-music goodness – The Tivoli is putting on a show (well, actually, quite a lot of them) as part of its brand-new live music and entertainment series Open Season. A curated series of concerts and performances taking over the iconic live-music venue, Open Season is set to reinvigorate Brisbane’s performing arts scene all summer long. From November 2020 to February 2021, eager concert-goers will be able to treat their ears and eyes to shows featuring Custard, Megan Washington, Cub Sport, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Briefs Factory and many more!
When we say Open Season has a huge roster of talent, we aren’t joking around. The program kicks off on Thursday November 5 when Queensland Symphony Orchestra teams up with The Saints co-founder Ed Kuepper. The immense amount of talent just grows from there with Brisbane pop darlings Cub Sport set to play four shows across two days from November 6–7, Brisbane singer, songwriter and visual artist Jaguar Jonze taking the stage on Friday November 20, and South Australian act Electric Fields playing two magical shows from November 13–14.
Christmas will come early when local six-piece band First Beige, supported by FELIVAND, performs on Saturday November 21 whilst Megan Washington returns to The Valley institution from December 22–23 – thanks, Santa! From Wednesday November 25 to Sunday December 19, The Tivoli will morph into its new dinner-and-show configuration for two weeks worth of circus antics and theatrics courtesy of Company 2’s Le Coup and Briefs Factory’s Bite Club. The fun and frivolity doesn’t stop there, as Brisbane Immersive Ensemble’s 1920s New Year’s takeover, Speakeasy, will glam up the venue for a theatrical evening filled with world-class tunes, tapas and tipples. The program will wrap up in the early new year with two Custard concerts from February 4–5.
So, let’s talk food and drink. Throughout the Open Season program (which is all seated either cabaret-style or dinner-and-show-style), The Tivoli will continue its very tasty partnership with City Winery, delivering delicious bites and booze straight to guest’s tables. At select shows, guests will be able to purchase an exclusive premium package which includes VIP seating close to the stage, a shared grazing platter and a bottle of premium Gerler wine for the table. To be honest, we aren’t missing overcrowded gigs when the alternative is as luxe as this.
Another round of Open Season artists will be announced soon. Tickets are on sale now! Purchase yours at The Tivoli website.
