Celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s life at The Gap Farmers’ Market
This weekend those attending The Gap Farmers’ Market will be treated to a free performance of Instant Romeo and Juliet by The Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s life.
Pull up a bale of hay or lie down on your picnic blanket and enjoy this fast and funny half-hour performance that turns the tragedy of star-crossed lovers into a high-paced comedy. There will be plenty of wooden-sword swashbuckling that will keep the kids entertained. The Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble approaches Shakespeare in a fun and interactive way that is easily understood by all ages. The Gap Farmers’ Market performance of Instant Romeo and Juliet will commence at 9:3o am at this Sunday April 24’s market.
