The Beards bring hairy awareness to The Zoo

The Beards bring hairy awareness to The Zoo

Bearded men are better in bed. Or so Adelaide-based band The Beards will have you believe by the end of their gig at The Zoo this Friday.

Adding to their repertoire of beardy musical material, comes the third album Having a Beard is the New Not Having a Beard, containing 11 new songs focused around the importance of sporting a large amount of facial hair. All factual arguments, naturally.

Originally formed as a joke to play a single show in Adelaide, the very bearded members of The Beards – complete with beard-appropriate last names – have come a long way in their mission to make having a beard the norm, oh and becoming an actual band, of course.

With this third record, an even more eclectic mix of musical styles, including further instrumentation, the comedic tunes and underlying anti-smooth-chin messages from this four-piece should prove a jolly start to the weekend.

Warning: not sure how the band members will react to hair-free faces in the front row. Women best fashion a fake moustache, just to be on the safe side.
