Greet emerging Brisbane artists at Test Pattern 2013

Like many a creative platform, the art world can be a difficult field to enter. But new kids on the art block have an ally in Ryan Renshaw Gallery, with an exhibition that helps to welcome up-and-coming local artists into the fold.

Test Pattern was established by Ryan Renshaw Gallery as a way for local artists to display their works and help Brisbanites to discover their talent. The event is an exhibition that showcases new art by a group of new Queensland artists. You will find pieces by the likes of Marnie Edmiston, Drew Flaherty, Dan McCabe, Felix Merry, Llewellyn Millhouse and Malinda Swain involved in the 2013 curation.

A range of different mediums is used in the works, ensuring there will be an item about that will tickle your fancy. Amongst the more traditional forms of painting, you’ll find experimentation with photography, various media and sculpture. This show will be the gallery’s first for 2013 and will run from February 8 to March 2.

Local artist-run-initiative Currents Projects has taken charge of Ryan Renshaw’s unmissable front display window, which will showcase the work of emerging artist Amy Longworth first up.
