Celebrate local living and community vibes at the Teneriffe Festival

July is a great month for a lot of reasons – winter days full of crisp air and sunny skies, officially marking the halfway point of the year and of course, the Teneriffe Festival sets up shop. This social calendar highlight celebrates everything we know and love about one of Brisbane’s (technically) newest suburbs, bringing together delicious food, awesome entertainment and a wholesome sense of community. Mark your diary for Saturday July 1 because it’s going to be one delight of a day.

When it comes to a mixed bag, Teneriffe Festival really has it all going on. The offering for the day is indicative of the melting pot that the suburb is, bringing together all elements that make the suburb so special. Tastes of Teneriffe is bringing the mouth-watering goodness this year – you can visit the Pimms bar at The London Club, sample bespoke beer at Green Beacon Brewing, nibble Asian-inspired street eats at Zero Fox and tuck into an incredible seafood platter from Fish’s Seafood Market just to name a few. Add a market village of more than 70 bespoke stalls selling everything from clothing and homewares to take-away treats and you’ve got a jam-packed day to make your way through.

As well as the food and market aspect, Teneriffe Festival is bringing some brand-new activations this year. Lucky punters may have already heard about the ticketed Secret Garden event, but there is plenty on offer that is open to all. A highlight is the stunning Exchange(s), a painting-in-motion video animation projection that will see the Teneriffe Woolstores become illuminated in full colour. The project is a juicy collab between TW Fine Art and Expressions Dance Company’s Matt Sheridan, bringing the work to life for one day only. You can also catch live sets at the festival’s custom River Stage from the likes of The Steele Syndicate, Shag Rock, Tia Gostelow and more. The line-up is curated by festival sponsors at The Triffid, so you know it’s coming from the best in the business.

Teneriffe Festival runs from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on Saturday July 1 – you would be mad to miss it.
