Find inspiration at TEDxSouthBank

TEDxSouthBank will return to Brisbane for the third time this weekend, as an impressive line-up of speakers share their ideas, inspire locals and enable change.

The State Library of Queensland will play host to the third annual TEDxSouthBank event this Saturday December 6, as sex therapists, social commentators and entrepreneurs share their tales of hardship and triumph. The volunteer-run event is attributed with bringing Tracey Spicer’s talk The Lady Stripped Bare to the stage, which soon went viral around the world. This year’s event focuses on the theme ‘Question Everything’ and will feature more than 20 speakers, including 2015 Queensland Young Australian of the Year Yassmin Abdel-Magied, social commentator Jane Caro, sex therapist Dr Bella Elwood-Clayton, Red Frogs founder Andy Gourley, women activist and philanthropist Deanne Weir and many more.

For the first time, the 2014 event will also give residents in rural communities the opportunity to host their own simulcast event, with a TEDxSouthBank Satellite Pack available for download online. Those who have successfully registered to attend in Brisbane will be filled with inspiration from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm this Saturday, while those who missed out on tickets can live stream the sessions via the SLQ website.
