TEDxBrisbane returns to stimulate and inspire ideas

Stimulating new ideas, communicating amazing stories and inspiring the next generation of thinkers, TEDx conferences drive our world forward in a positive fashion. From early beginnings covering topics such as technology, entertainment and design, TEDx conferences are independently organised events that allow TED inspiration to continue to spread beyond online videos.

On September 21, Brisbane’s leading thinkers, storytellers and performers will converge at the State Library of Queensland to share their ideas worth spreading. At the last TEDxBrisbane event in 2011, audience members listened to wise words of traditional indigenous healer Frank Ansell, the director of Anywhere Theatre Festival Paul Osuch and artist Hazel Dooney.

The creation of Paul Fairweather of Fairweather Creative Culture, Carl Lindgren of map magazine and independent producer Lisa Watts, TEDxBrisbane is set to spark discussions and ideas surrounding the theme ‘ONEx’, with applications now open to attend this year’s event. The speakers are yet to be announced, however The Weekend Edition has it on pretty good authority that an 18-minute impromptu performance by Katie Noonan is on the cards, along with what will be an amazing and inspiring talk by Mao’s Last Dancer himself – Li Cunxin.

Check out this short film by local boutique media production house TheStoryBoxes to get your TEDx inspiration bone amped for upcoming event.
