Take a journey through Wonderland with Queensland Ballet

What many wouldn’t give to spend a day exploring the seemingly endless vaults of Lewis Carroll’s wild imagination.

Enchanted by the tale of Alice in Wonderland, Queensland Ballet is bringing the magic and whimsy of Wonderland to the QPAC stage in its rendition of the classic children’s story.

After Alice misguidedly follows a late white bunny down a rabbit hole, she finds herself meeting a colouful array of characters, including the fiery Queen of Hearts, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, and the Mad Hatter (who probably should have chosen to serve a soothing herbal brew at his tea party).

Filled with charm and wit, the story naturally lends itself to a ballet interpretation. Queensland Ballet’s Artistic Director François Klaus has choreographed the performance with the intention that the ballet would be accessible for children and adults alike. In true Lewis Carroll form, the costumes are colourful and the music is wildly eclectic.

You can take a journey into Wonderland with Queensland Ballet from March 31 to April 14 at QPAC.
