Launch !t kicks off Surfers Paradise Festival

Take a drive south of the city to a coastal location where the salty sea breezes will mingle with music, food and street culture from April 2–26 as Surfers Paradise Festival sprawls through the seaside streets.

First up, from April 4–6, music lovers can amble along the coastline of Surfers Paradise – to where Hanlan Street and The Esplanade meet – and take in the musical performances of a host of iconic Australian artists during opening event Launch !t. Each of the three evenings has a different theme and collection of artists on stage, so guests can witness a new concert experience each day. Surfers Paradise Festival will continue with a range of tantalising food-focused events throughout the month, including a wine dinner with celebrity chef Luke Mangan and the Gold Coast’s highest and longest lunch at the SkyPoint Observation Deck.

The Laneway Project will engage passersby with a mix of entertainment from acoustic bands and street entertainers to art and craft markets, while Sh!ft Gallery exhibits local artists’ personal narratives of the shift in scenery amongst the urban and natural landscapes of the Gold Coast. Film buffs will enjoy SIPfest – the short films section of the Surfers Paradise Film Festival – which features a program of shorts by the country’s emerging young directors. Find the full program of events for the month here.
