Free festive fun – SunPAC Summerfest celebrates the silly season in multicultural style
One of the best things about Christmas in Australia is that our cultural diversity means we really don’t have any rules. All families celebrate in their own different way – whether it’s with oodles of seafood, a hit of beach cricket or just keeping things low-key. The common theme at play is that we love to come together and celebrate, solidifying a community spirit that makes our lifestyle so great. The SunPAC Summerfest is a perfect combination of festive family-friendly fun, bringing together a multicultural program of performances, food and entertainment on Saturday December 1.
The SunPAC Summerfest is taking over SunPAC and surrounds for one day only, unifying people of Brisbane in one mega-festive celebration of Christmas and community. The event will be held all through SunPAC including the theatre, rehearsal room and even outside on the adjacent astroturf rugby field, filling the venue with people from all walks of life coming together to indulge in some good old-fashioned fun.
So what exactly will be happening at the SunPAC Summerfest? A whole bunch of goodness, of course! Organisers have put together a program that offers something for everyone while also celebrating the Christmas spirit. Multicultural music and performances will take you on a trip around the globe, while a big carols session will get even the most Grinchy characters smiling. There will be sporting activities for those who prefer to get physical, as well as loads of Christmas-themed fun for everyone to enjoy. It wouldn’t be a party without some good eats, so some of the city’s favourite food trucks will be on hand to feed the masses.
Ready to dive into the festive season? Entry to SunPAC Summerfest is free but you must register to secure your spot – add your name to the list here. Those who register will also go into the draw to win some seriously cool prizes on the day (hello, dining vouchers and golden tickets!).
