Way back in 1992, a very young Paul Mercurio, Todd McKenney and Sonia Kruger ballroom danced their way on to the big screen in Baz Luhrmann’s iconic film, Strictly Ballroom. Some 23 years later (could it really be that long ago?), Baz is back in the director’s chair to bring us Strictly Ballroom the Musical, a glittering, romantic comedy that tells the story of a champion ballroom dancer who defies all the rules to follow his heart. Staying true to the original soundtrack, the musical features old favourites like Love is in the Air and Time after Time, along with fresh new songs by artists such as Eddie Perfect and Sia.

The talented cast includes Thomas Lacey and Phoebe Panaretos as Scott Hastings and Fran, with Bob Baines, Darren Gilshenan, Natalie Gamsu and Mark Owen-Taylor leading an ensemble of over 40 performers.
