St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival set to knock Brisbane’s socks off

It’s that time of year again when Brisbane music lovers are gearing up for one of Australia’s most noteworthy music festivals, the St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival.

Now in its twelfth year, the 2016 St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival is set impress Brisbane audiences with its eclectic mix of music genres, from electronica and shambolic punk, to intelligent pop and boundary-pushing hip-hop. Kicking off at the Brisbane Showgrounds on February 6, the festival’s line-up will feature a strong Aussie contingent, including soloists Banoffee and Flume; raucous rockers, Violent Soho; musical treasures, Big Scary; and Melbourne duo, Slum Sociable. Joining our home-grown talent will be a raft of international acts including the U.K.’s East India Youth, CHVRCHES, and Hudson Mohawke; the U.S.’s Battles, DIIV, and Health; and Canada’s Grimes and Majical Coudz.

In addition to enjoying the musical contingent of the festival, party-goers can get their vinyl fix at Jet Black Cat Records, satisfy their hunger at The Curious Caravan cafe, ham it up in the Frankie and Mavis photo booth, and peruse the jewellery range at Barefoot and Blonde. Tickets are on sale online and at a range of outlets around town.
