Splendour in the Grass returns to Byron Bay this weekend

Returning to its original beachside glory, annual winter music festival Splendour in the Grass takes over Byron Bay this weekend.

A mash-up of musical talent, this year’s line-up sees the lads of Jack White, Bloc Party and Hilltop Hoods perform alongside talented lasses Lana Del Ray, Kimbra, Ladyhawke and Metric. From Friday July 27 through Sunday July 29, lose yourself in the live shows of your favourite musicians in the relaxed ambience of dreamy Byron Bay’s Belongil Fields.

When you’re not showing support for Brisbane bands Emma Louise, Mosman Alder and Last Dinosaurs, keep warm by a bonfire or tuck in to Dagwood dog. Other ‘spare time’ activities include dancing amongst the outdoor sanctuary of the Tipi Forest, engaging in a faux marriage, listening to the chanting monks or shopping in The Very Small Mall.

The eco cops are back to ensure you’re all keeping the Earth’s wellbeing in mind while you rock out all weekend. And, whether you’re committed to the whole festival or just popping in for a day, make sure to save a sliver of time for consuming a stack of Byron Bay Organic Doughnuts – the perfect counterpart to this frenzied festival of music and culture.
