Songs at Sunset to fill West Village with tunes, tapas and tipples
Concerts have been mostly absent from the calendar this year, but they are making a welcome comeback across our vibrant city – and boy, we have missed them so. If you’ve been itching to treat your ears to an afternoon of sweet tunes, West End lifestyle and entertainment precinct West Village is hosting Songs at Sunset, two twilight opera performances in the lush surrounds of The Common on Friday October 9 and Saturday October 10.
Get ready for an evening of sipping, snacking and sunset serenades at West Village, as Opera Queensland soprano Rebecca Cassidy delivers an intimate performance of opera hits. The Songs at Sunset twilight concerts will see Rebecca reflect on her musical career so far, as well as introducing us to her favourite operas and dream roles. It’s all to celebrate West Village’s partnership with world-class artistic company Opera Queensland, bringing the magic of live performance back to Brisbane.
The concert commences as the sun goes down at 6:00 pm, with Rebecca performing a selection of passionate arias and popular melodies. As you soak up the dulcet sounds of operatic classics, you can tuck into a mouth-watering cheese platter from Say Cheese and a bottle of wine or sparkling to share with your friends. Tickets are $120 per four-seat table and spaces are strictly limited – book a table here!
