Creative conference Semi-Permanent returns to Brisbane
Annual creative conference Semi-Permanent returns to Brisbane this Thursday, bringing with it a stellar line-up of artists and designers across various fields. Sharing their knowledge, career stories and latest works are eight creative mavens from around the country.
From Sydney photographer Andrew Quilty, whose gripping images have been published in The New York Times and Vanity Fair, to Melbourne artist Bec Winnel who creates supremely life-like illustrations, the speakers at Semi-Permanent give insight into the industry and inspire the audience. Other renowned names gracing the Brisbane Semi-Permanent line-up include global transmedia company Radical Media, Melbourne designer Beci Orphin, Sydney artist Paul Davis, design studio Toby and Pete, advertising agency The Monkeys and artist and founder and editor of online art publication [weAREtheIMAGEmakers], Beastman.
For those not able to slink out of work and into the inspirational, electric environment of Semi-Permanent this Thursday, head along to the after party at Blake House in Brisbane City. With exhibition BACK AND FORTH on show, see six visual artists from around the country paired to DJs, who will remix the music that inspired the artworks into mix-tape form.
