Frolic about at the Sciencefictive garden party

In a send off for both Gary Carsley’s Sciencefictive and collective exhibition The Working Life, the IMA will host a garden party this weekend.

The latest installation by Brisbane-born, Sydney-based Gary Carsley, Sciencefictive sees two of IMA’s galleries transformed into an immerse interior garden, in which visitors follow a pathway to each Moongate, serving as portals into gardens from around the world. Inspired by the exhibition, the gallery will host a garden party in the Berwick Street courtyard and throughout the artist’s interior garden spaces this Saturday July 26 from 12:00–2:00 pm.

Perhaps wish for a warm winter’s day for Saturday and swathe yourself in your spring garden best for the afternoon soiree, where you’ll nibble on Sichuan delicacies and drinks organised by Street Food Australia. Orchid New Music will provide the afternoon soundtrack and you can also wander through The Working Life this weekend – a collective exhibition of film, video and performance works depicting representations of modern labour conditions.
