Take in some Nordic films at the Scandinavian Film Festival

Now in its second year, the Scandinavian Film Festival is bringing some of the top flicks from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland to Australian audiences.

From July 16 to 26, Palace Centro will be hosting the Scandinavian Film Festival – a showcase of some of the past year’s best films from the northern European nations. The opening film of the 2015 festival is the Australian premiere of acclaimed Norwegian road movie, Here Is Harold. The film follows Harold, a small business owner whose furniture store is threatened by the opening of a new IKEA location, so Harold decides to take matters into his own hands. The closing film is the acclaimed documentary, Ingrid Bergman: In Her Own Words.

Other films on the program include the award-winning drama Life In A Fishbowl from Iceland, Swedish and Norwegian film Underdog, Finnish comedy The Grump and many more. Be sure to head to the Scandinavian Film Festival website to have a look at the program of films and then secure your tickets before the festival moves on.
