Say ciao to Italian Week

Say ciao to Italian Week

Calling all Signors and Signorinas, Italian Week 2012 is upon us – from May 23 to June 2, Brisbane will become a hub of Mediterranean celebrations thanks to numerous events held in the name of Italia.

While Italy might not really be about Mario-style moustaches and wildly gesticulating hands, nobody’s going to mind if it helps you get into the swing of things. There’s a heck of a lot of things to celebrate about Italy – it’s given us delicious food like pasta, pizza and Robert De Niro (well, kind of). The events will include an Italian market, dancing and free entertainment all along Queen Street Mall. There will also be a waiters race held every day between the Treasury Casino and QPAC.

This year’s theme is ‘Sapori e Piaceri’, which translates to ‘taste and pleasure’ – so don your red, white and green and get ready to indulge.
