Get in our bellies – Salt Meats Cheese is putting on a cheese feast that’s too gouda to be true

We have something to admit, loyal readers. We. Love. Cheese. Shuffling into the kitchen late at night to grab a handful of shredded goodness, topping everything and anything with a shaving of parmesan and absolutely destroying the wheel of camembert that sits atop the charcuterie board – there’s just no stopping us when it comes to the moreish dairy snack. Salt Meats Cheese is giving us another excuse to devour the good stuff with the arrival of its newest event The Cheesy Affair. This feast of cheesy bites is un-brie-lievable to say the least …

Pencil Tuesday March 23 into your diary, as that’s when The Cheesy Affair will be tantalising tastebuds and filling bellies from 5:00 pm at Salt Meats Cheese Newstead. Strap yourself in for a line-up of seven drool-worthy Italian favourites, where cheese graduates from side player to main character. Diners can expect to devour a dairy-fuelled menu that covers the sinfully oozy and the decadently gooey – so trust us when we say to wear your stretchy pants! The best part? These special dishes are just $19 each.

The Cheesy Affair will kick off with a wheel of baked brie topped with spiced tomato jam, followed by crispy haloumi and polenta fries. Heartier eats include buffalo and mozzarella bolognese pizza, creamy burrata carbonara and mozzarela, gorgonzola and parmesan stuffed chicken breast. The crowning glory of the dinner comes in the form of the ten-cheese pizza, which combines pecorino primo sale, pecorino romano, parmigiano reggiano fior di latte, truffle manchego, taleggio, gorgonzola, pecorino sardo, buffalo mozzarella and ricotta on a doughy woodfired bed. So you can finish off on a sweet note, the banquet will conclude with ricotta semifreddo cannoli.

There are limited spots available for this mouth-watering event so head to the SMC website to book your spot. Remember to wipe the drool from your lips first.
