Chaotic streets of bustling traffic, overflowing marketplaces and colourful communities form the inspiration board that is Asia. Brisbane artist Amanda Krantz has embraced the exoticism of this geographical region (particularly India and Thailand) in her latest exhibition, Rickshaw Madam. Showing at Graydon Gallery, the Brisbane-based painter’s creations each showcase her familiar style of painting – incorporating heady smears of vibrant colour and lively techniques on canvas. It’s this exciting style, which sees paint poured and flicked in all directions, that helps to bring the flora and fauna to life in Amanda’s works.
