Take your tastebuds on a globetrotting adventure at Global Fiesta by Regional Flavours

Whilst we may not be able to travel the world, that doesn’t mean our tastebuds can’t go on a trip across continents. That’s exactly what Global Fiesta by Regional Flavours plans to help with when it rolls into town from October 16-17. Roving entertainment, multicultural cuisine and riverside bars is just a small sample of what’s on offer at this colourful event, read on to find out more …

Global Fiesta is the second event in the three-part Regional Flavours food-and-wine festival, which is serving up some of Australia’s most celebrated chefs and local producers on a platter. Across three succulent sessions over the weekend, Global Fiesta will spotlight the city’s rich multicultural diversity and fare at South Bank. Kick off your journey into cuisine, culture and carnival with a stroll through The Marketplace, a mecca of flavoursome food from across the globe such as hearty paella, fluffy gnocchi, tantalising tacos and glorious gozleme. From there, enjoy your sips and snacks alfresco and take in the entertainment at the Destination Stage including traditional Polynesian dancers, salsa spinners and Japanese drummers. Over at the World Stage, curious culinary adventurers can get up close and personal with esteemed chefs including Louis Tikaram, Josh Lopez, Peter Kuruvita, Aunty Dale Chapman and more as they create renowned global dishes.

Continue to soak up the winter rays as well as riverfront views at the Departure Lounge at River Quay, where you can laze amongst the lush greenery as an electric mix of DJs fill the air with beats. Over at Little Stanley Street, continue to stamp your passport by joining a samba line, jive alongside a Mexican mariachi band and reminisce on trips abroad to the tune of a French accordion. Those wanting a complete sensory trip can immerse themselves in the rich flora and fauna of the parklands at the Epicurious Garden. It’s here where you can go on a Global Fiesta Spice Walk, hosted by renowned chefs and experienced horticulturists, which takes guests on an educational trail that showcases the abundance of herbs and spices found in the parklands. For a luxe epicurean experience, diners can tuck in to a flavourful feast at one of South Bank’s renowned restaurants at an exclusive Signature Event.
