It’s good to be green at the Recreate Twilight Market and Paper Fashion Show

A certain children’s TV show once mused on what would happen if the whole world were paper, and you’ve got to admit that it’s an intriguing prospect. Combining a sense of pure wonder with an eco-conscious twist, the Recreate Twilight Market and Paper Fashion Show is an all-in sensory experience taking over King George Square on Friday November 4 to show Brisbane that sustainability and style are a winning combination.

Running in conjunction with National Recycling Week, Brisbane City Council created the Recreate Twilight Market and Paper Fashion Show as a fun and fresh way to celebrate the sustainable culture that our city is so well known for. Combining delicious eats from some of Brisbane’s favourite food trucks, free paper-craft activities and the legendary BrisStyle team, the market component of Recreate is a delight for the senses. The event focuses heavily on the local and handmade aspects of market culture, creating an environment that educates people on how to make more ethical choices without skipping out on quality or style.

Highlighting Brisbane’s reputation as a clean and green hotspot, the Paper Fashion Show is something you have to see to believe. The best and brightest names in Brisbane fashion have been challenged to create couture entirely from paper, turning anything from old magazines to doughnut boxes into jaw-dropping works of wearable art. Some of the designers stepping up to the sartorial plate this year include Brad Webb from Darb Bridal CoutureAlice Vievers from Alice Nightingale, Nick Azar from The Great Beyond and Rachel Burke from i make. you wear it just to name a few.

Recreate is a free event, and anyone is welcome to join in the fun.
