Forward-thinking fashion on display at the Recreate Twilight Market and Paper Fashion Show

On Friday November 13, King George Square will be the location of an innovative and environmentally friendly market celebrating National Recycling Week.

With the goal of encouraging and informing Australian residents about the environmental benefits of recycling, National Recycling Week campaigns through a variety of events and programs from November 9–15. Brisbane City Council has come on board to host an environmentally conscious market and creative fashion show. The Recreate Twilight Market and Paper Fashion Show will celebrate Brisbane’s recycling efforts and showcase paper creations that help reuse and recycle for a more sustainable city.

Artisan market stalls will be selling wares alongside workshops and paper-craft activity spaces. Some of Brisbane’s most imaginative designers will be showcasing a collection of paper couture garments, with designs from George Wu, Maiocchi, House of Cards, VIHN, i make. you wear it. and many more. The night will also be filled with the sounds of live music from The QUBE Effect bands, Golden Age of Ballooning, Holly Terrens and Quintessential Doll, while some of Brisbane’s best food trucks will roll into King George Square to keep the masses fed. This event is free to attend, so grab some friends and wander around these beautiful markets at twilight.

Watch a preview of the paper fashion designs and visit Council’s website to find out more about the designers and National Recycling Week celebrations.

Presented by Brisbane City Council and VISY.
