Raul Midón brings his untold talents to Brisbane
Raul Midón will perform live on Brisbane Powerhouse’s Visy Theatre stage on Monday November 25.
His talents have been compared to the musical elite likes of Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers, and now blind singer-songwriter and guitarist Raul Midón is coming to Brisbane Powerhouse. The artist’s unique style of soul, pop, jazz and other blended genres has been recognised by three major record labels and with regular television appearances around the world.
Raul, who grew up in rural New Mexico, has played guitar from six years of age and has been experimenting across several musical genres since. Stemming from an early passion for Argentine folk music with its heavy bongo beats, Raul developed a love for rhythmic Latin styles and rock music on a grander scale. As a child who was unable to see his guitar, Raul learnt to play with an instinctive sense of the instrument, getting a feel for things through meticulous practice.
