Shop up a storm at the QAGOMA Winter Design Market
QAGOMA is one of Brisbane’s best assets, so you can be rest assured they know a thing or two about curating and collecting. The gallery has carried this expertise over to its QAGOMA Store Winter Design Market, coming back bigger and better than ever for this season.
Featuring more than 35 independent craft and design artists, the QAGOMA Store Winter Design Market is bursting at the seams with a wide variety of high-quality handmade objects and gifts – there’s everything from ceramics and jewellery to homewares and paper products. There are some returning favourites including Kimono Reincarnate, Susan Simonini, Paper Boat Press and ethical clothing label Anna Hulm.
The market also welcomes some new players in the game – Mas & Miek create bespoke tableware and ceramic vessels, Spirit Fire Designs offers up leather jewellery and accessories, and Work Shop Objects deals in handcrafted timber storage and lighting (just to name a few). In addition to all the goodies on offer at the market, you can also browse the more permanent fixture of the QAGOMA Store to pick up books, art merch and designer gifts. You can check out the action outside the Gallery of Modern Art at South Brisbane on Saturday July 30 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. As an added bonus, it coincides with the Cindy Sherman exhibit showing in the gallery – how convenient!
