While our feeds are filled with endless snaps of European summers (seriously, it seems like everyone is there!), you might find yourself green with envy while you try to stay warm amongst Brisbane’s chilly conditions. Well, we’re here to tell you that you can have your own Euro-inspired experience right here in our river city. From truffle dinners to waterfront long-table lunches filled with Italian delights, there’s something for every wanderlust-stricken feaster at Portside Wharf this July …

No need for a passport or an expensive plane ticket, as you can experience top-notch Italian cuisine at Portside Wharf. The gastronomic expedition kicks off with the Black Truffle Night at Gusto Da Gianni on Thursday July 14. This flavoursome feast features five courses of delicious truffle-infused dishes that are matched perfectly with wine. Diners will be met with bubbles and canapes upon arrival before digging into the likes of beef tartare with confit egg yolk, salmon roe, black truffle and tapioca cracker, raviolo carbonara with crispy guanciali and black-truffle shavings, beef fillet with potato pave and black-truffle sauce, and Mont Blanc eclair with chestnut cream, cassis and lemon jam and meringue.

Those looking to experience a traditional Italian feast can rally friends and famiglia for Gusto Da Gianni’s luxe long-table lunch on the banks of the Brisbane River on Sunday July 31. It’s at this sophisticated smorgasbord where you’ll be able to stick your fork into the likes of homemade focaccia, vincigrassi with porcini mushrooms and taleggio cheese, slow-roasted suckling pig with potato wedges, broad bean puree and red wine jus, and warm apple strudel with cinnamon creme anglaise. Plus, there will be live entertainment throughout the day and an afterparty for revellers keen to continue the celebrations. Now, who’s ready to party Euro-style?
