Paniyiri Greek Festival is returning to Brisbane with a honeypuff drive-through and a crackin’ program of events

Prepare your stomachs, friends – one of Brisbane’s most beloved festivals, Paniyiri Greek Festival is returning to bring us a much-needed dose of delicious eats and culture. The 45th edition of the festival will be celebrated over one jam-packed weekend from May 22–23, where all of our favourite events will be making an appearance plus … drum roll, please …. a honeypuff drive-through. We’re salivating already.

After COVID cancelled Paniyiri Greek Festival’s physical celebrations in 2020, the much-adored event is delivering a slightly smaller (but just as tasty) event in 2021. Held over the third weekend in May, Paniyiri will look to encapsulate the full scope of the Greek living experience. This year’s festivities will be held inside The Greek Club precinct as well as online, and will include a COVID-safe program of real, virtual and live-streamed experiences. Revellers will be treated to a line-up of mouth-watering authentic food, dancing, live music, cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs and much more.

Possibly the most exciting part of this year’s festival is a new addition – a honeypuff drive-through that will be doling out large quantities of the sweet dessert. Yes, that’s right – drive-through honeypuffs. Life is good, folks. If that’s not enough culinary magic for you, Nostimo Restaurant at The Greek Club will celebrate Paniyiri for the whole month of May with a sumptuous selection of lunch and dinner specials. Entry to Paniyiri Greek Festival at The Greek Club precinct will be free, with some ticketed experiences available to book. More information will be announced in the coming weeks and ticketed events set to go on sale on Monday May 3 at 9:00 am here. We’re waiting with bated breath.
