What’s New Pussycat is a brand-new adventure for Puss in Boots. Judith Prior’s reworking of Puss in Boots is a world away from the original, purposefully moral tale. This funny story takes the cunning cat and his master far away from their humble beginnings in a mill and on to an adventure across magical and musical lands. The biggest change to the telling of this familiar fable is in the musical numbers that invigorate the storytelling. Puss, his master, and the quirky characters they come across sing hit songs from the 1980s through to today – such as ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Workin’ for the Man’ – as they adventure through a surprising thrift shop and the dangerous desert while fighting vicious trolls and malicious witches. more
