Experience the man and the writer in person when he sits down with audiences at Brisbane Powerhouse for an evening of reading and conversation. On Thursday January 23, the author of Me Talk Pretty One Day and Let’s Explore Diabetes With Owls will take to the stage to deliver his usual satiric observations of the human condition in person. more

The Rocky Horror Show loosens ties at QPAC

Steady yourselves, innocuous Brisbane audiences. In its 40th anniversary production, Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show is coming to QPAC and bringing its collection of devious characters along for some justly provocative enactments. Craig McLachlan will don the racy black corset to play the wily role of Frank N Furter, while Christie Whelan Browne and Tim Maddren will take up the parts of the unknowing twosome Janet and Brad who stumble into an unexpected situation. In the title character of Frank N Furter’s creation, Rocky, Brendan Irving will step out in the infamous gold hotpants – and be joined by the likes of Riff Raff, Magenta and Columbia on the Lyric Theatre’s stage. The show will go on until Sunday February 9, or until it is deemed too lascivious to continue. more
