Having worked collaboratively and in dialogue together for more than three years, Brisbane artists Llewellyn Millhouse and Sarah Poulgrain have now pooled their talents in their first joint exhibition. Running until Saturday September 27 at Metro Arts, Feel The Quality explores intimate scenarios and sensations through a process of collection and construction – asking the audience to engage with the ‘quality’ of materials and sensations. Drawing from routine experiences of public space, Llewellyn and Sarah direct critical attention towards mundane signs, behaviours and products in order to consider their significance, value and meaning. more
Brisbane artist Franz Ehmann has been melding text-paintings, installation, performance, video and food in his works for the past 20 years. In his latest exhibition Many Things (it’s a colourful world) at Spiro Grace Art Rooms, he employs beeswax, honey, milk and eggs to form his contemporary artworks. Many Things will see objects displayed in precise ways to simultaneously create and resolve humanistic concerns, deconstructing the meaning of language, material and imagery to construct a series of questions. The exhibition will open this Thursday September 11 from 6:00–8:00 pm, and run until Saturday September 27. more
