Omar Musa launches debut novel Here Come The Dogs

Malaysian-Australian slam poet and hip-hop artist Omar Musa has released three hip-hop albums and two poetry books, appeared on Q&A and won hearts at TEDxSydney. And now he’s set to release his debut novel, Here Come The Dogs. Part prose, part verse, the novel captures the urgent language and hip-hop rhythms of Omar’s usually spoken word and places it on the page. Creating a window into the youth of contemporary multicultural Australia, Here Come The Dogs follows the lives of three disaffected, hedonistic, aspirational and sometimes violent young men. Supported by Brisbane slam poet and author of The Future Ancients Luka Lesson and DJ Butch Daddy, Omar will launch the book at Black Bear Lodge on Wednesday July 30 from 7:00 pm. Watch his TEDxSydney appearance here and find tickets to Wednesday’s book launch via Riverbend Books & Teahouse.
