Learn to harvest your own food at Northey Street City Farm

Northey Street City Farm is the home to not only the Sunday Organic Market but is a world of sustainability, permaculture and garden activities.

This weekend at the Northey Street City Farm you can learn to grow food in your very own urban environment with Hedrick Kwan. Hedrick is the founder of Plant Visionz whose concept is to impart knowledge to the lay people on how to grow and maintain plants. At the Table Farming in your Kitchen workshop Hedrick is focusing on live food such as sprouts. These live foods are packed with phytonutrients (essentially meaning goodness aplenty) that have been proven to prevent chronic illness. Live foods also have the added benefit in that they bring life to bland dishes. What better cooking tip is there than that?

Growing live food can be done anywhere as long as the vital ingredients of light, ventilation and water are supplied and the right quantities.  Join the Table Farm in your Kitchen workshop from 9:oo am to 12:00 pm on Saturday May 16 and learn the basics about and taste all different kinds of sprouts.
