Witty words – catch beloved author Nick Earls in conversation at Brisbane Powerhouse

If you’re a regular visitor of book stores, you would have definitely clocked Nick Earls’ novels in the fiction section over the years. The Brisbane author is considered a local literary luminary – and for good reason, his books have entertained readers of all generations from adults to teenagers and even young kids. Nick released a new novel this past August called Empires and to celebrate he’s coming to Brisbane Powerhouse for a hearty chat on the written word.

Mark Friday October 8 in your calendar, literary lovers, as that’s when Nick Earls will hit the stage at Brisbane Powerhouse as part of the venue’s Writers+Ideas program. Nick, a celebrated author of twenty-eight books including the best-selling novels Zigzag Street, Bachelor Kisses and Perfect Skin, and the award-winning novella series Wisdom Tree, will be chatting to ABC Radio’s Katherine Feeney about his brand-new work, Empires.

The new-release tale is a moving and timely look at the connections humans make, the connections we miss and the many ways that we need to be mindful of this planet we share – subject matter that has been woven into the fabric of our everyday lives since the beginning of the pandemic. Need a new pick for your book club? To tune into this riveting conversation with Brisbane’s much-loved author Nick Earls, grab your tickets here.
