All aboard – Museum of Brisbane is making a splash with its Tides of Brisbane boat tour
Coined the “River City”, Brisbane is weaved together by the central heart that is the river. These (usually murky) waters set the backdrop for a whole bunch of our favourite spots in the city – and some of our most cherished memories too. Set to hit the water this November, Museum of Brisbane’s Tides of Brisbane boat tour will uncover the history behind the iconic Brown Snake, and let’s just say this overwater adventure is well worth finding your sea legs for.
Perfect for history buffs, learned locals and curious culture seekers, the Tides of Brisbane boat tour looks to recreate the success of Museum of Brisbane’s beloved on-land walking tour programs. The three-hour journey promises to deliver a treasure chest of fun and fascinating tales of Brisbane River life married with some pretty fantastic views of The City. Setting sail from City Botanic Gardens, this fact-filled boat ride glides past the shimmering skyline, as well as convict-built structures, historic landmarks and eye-catching feats of engineering.
Hungry seafarers will be happy to learn that the boat drops anchor at Sea Legs Brewing Co. in Kangaroo Point, where you can opt to settle in for a sun-dappled lunch, some frothy libations and stellar views of Story Bridge. Keen to take a ride on the river while learning some scintillating stories about Brisbane? Tickets to Museum of Brisbane’s Tides of Brisbane boat tour are $120 per adult and $115 per concession and will be running every Wednesday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and every Sunday from 3:00 pm to 6:00pm from November 3 until December 19. Grab your sailor’s hat and get ready to hop aboard by grabbing tickets here.
