Stroll or sail your way through The City’s history with Museum of Brisbane’s fact-filled tours

History, art, culture and iconic Brisbane stories come together in Museum of Brisbane’s walking tours, which are returning bigger and better this year with an exciting new addition to the line-up. Whether you’re keen to stroll through the city streets or hop aboard a boat and sail down the river, there’s a tale-filled route waiting for you.

Museum of Brisbane is amping up the action for its latest tour launching this April, Brisbane City Walking Tour: Past and PresentHistory buffs will be taken through some of The City’s most legendary sites on this anecdote-filled adventure as a knowledgable tour guide waxes lyrical about Brisbane’s colourful tales. The brain-tingling tour will conclude inside MoB’s latest exhibition Making Place: 100 Views of Brisbane, where museum-goers can treat their peepers to more than 100 artworks depicting some of Brisbane’s most iconic scenes. The dazzling exhibition features works from renowned artists including Vida Lahey, Judy Watson and Margaret Olley, and an atmospheric soundscape by Artist in Residence Lawrence English, leaving you with a much-needed dose of culture.

Eager to embark on more knowledge-packed tours? Art addicts can get their fill at the Public Art Walking Tour, which showcases a treasure chest of Brisbane’s art ranging from traditional pieces dating back more than 100 years to fresh installations and striking laneway works. You can also discover the hidden history behind one of Brisbane’s oldest suburbs, Spring Hill, in the History on the Hill Walking Tour, or get your sea legs on the Tides of Brisbane Boat Tour, a three-hour journey that promises to deliver a host of fun and fascinating tales of Brisbane River life married with some pretty fantastic views of The City. Now, all you have to do is choose your own adventure!
