Motorwagen spotlights micro-seasonal produce with its tastebud-enticing Chef’s Series event

A favourite amongst lunch-loving inner-city dwellers and dinnertime flavour seekers, Motorwagen has been serving up mouth-watering fare to the masses since 2018. Not one to rest on its laurels, the Motorwagen team has decided to introduce a new culinary concept to the eatery in the form of its Chef’s Series event. This exciting series will see Motorwagen’s chefs challenge themselves by creating a new four-course menu each fortnight using fresh seasonal ingredients. Here’s a sample of what’s on offer …

Adelaide Street’s Motorwagen welcomes diners in droves, tempting tastebuds with its classic bistro fare that’s met with a modern twist. In order to keep things fresh for its loyal patrons, Motorwagen’s head chef and foodie mastermind Callum Rogers is consistently tweaking the menu at the change of seasons to highlight the best available produce. Having trained in Perth and worked in New Zealand, Canada and more recently at NuNu Restaurant in Palm Cove, Callum loves to bring local, seasonal and native Australian ingredients to the menus at Motorwagen. The Chef’s Series event takes this one step further, with the eatery’s offering completely overhauled every fortnight to spotlight at least one micro-seasonal ingredient. The exclusive menus will change theme every second Friday, depending on what local produce is on offer that week – from locally caught seafood straight from the trawlers and locally sourced meat to farm-fresh fruit and vegetables.

Previous menus have included the salivation-inducing likes of Hervey Bay scallops with smoked pear and crustacean crumb, Borrowdale pork belly with summer corn, raddish and verjuice pork sauce, and chilled coconut rice pudding topped with white-chocolate Aero and passionfruit. Sure to impress, the Chef’s Series menu includes four courses for $75 per person and thirsty folk can pair this fanciful feast with matching wines for $40. Motorwagen’s next Chef’s Series menu will drop on Friday March 12.
