Mild Manners presents Mik Shida’s Mythographies

With his initial painting career sparked in Brisbane in the mid-2000s, street artist Mik Shida is now recognised globally for his ethereal works splashed across both external surfaces and within gallery walls. His latest works culminate in Mythographies, which has been touring Melbourne and Sydney, and finally lands at Brisbane Powerhouse this week. A multi-layered exhibition of new paintings and hardwood sculptural works, Mythographies draws from inspirations as varied as Science Fiction Art, French Post-Impressionism and Russian Symbolist Art in Mik’s depictions of spiritscapes. The exhibition opens Wednesday August 13 and runs until Monday September 8 in the Mosquito Foyer of Brisbane Powerhouse.
